Protected and Conserved Areas (PCAs) Reshaping the Agenda for Area-based Conservation
Protected and Conserved Areas (PCAs) play a significant role in safeguarding biodiversity, ecosystem services, and bio-cultural heritage. Our PCA thematic track focuses on strengthening the management and sustainability of these vital areas, ensuring they continue to provide refuge for wildlife and resources for communities.
We work with local and international partners to enhance capacity for effective PCA management, provide training and mentorship and promote policy advocacy at both national and global levels. Our aim is to foster resilient ecosystems while supporting the livelihoods of people who depend on these landscapes.
Strategy Areas:Â
Through our work and projects, we are committed to:
- Strengthening management capacity and skills in PCA governance and operations
- Promoting community involvement in decision-making and stewardship of natural resources
- PCA management mentorship and intergenerational exchange programsÂ
- Advocating for the recognition and protection of Bio-Cultural landscapes as a critical component of the global conservation agenda
Our work also supports global conservation frameworks such as the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, focusing on improving outcomes for protected areas (Target 3). By championing the importance of well-managed and inclusive PCAs, Terra-NatureWild Conservation contributes to a future where nature and people thrive in harmony.
Join us in our mission to protect the planet’s most precious natural spaces!
